By 11 am we were in Circular Quay, right where the harbor and the Opera House is. We started walking around to take the obligatory pictures. We started with the Harbour Bridge with all the ant-like people that where climbing it; before you think that you can simply randomly climb, let me clarify: you can do a tour where they get you harnessed and you climb on the bridge. The whole thing is pretty expensive (I think it’s about $200 per person) and I decided I can scare myself for free any time in Colorado, so there is no need for me to do that.
We then moved on to the Opera House: that building is really impressive and funky. I never knew, but the roof is all made of little tiles that make it look like a giant lizard (don’t know why, but that’s what I thought). We are considering doing their tour where they take you inside all the rooms. We wanted to go see a show but unfortunately they are “resting” for the Xmas holiday and the next show would be on the 27…and we will be flying back to the US that day.
After that we met our friend Michael for lunch: he moved to Sydney from Boulder mid-November and we caught up on a bunch of stuff that has happened since then. Tomorrow we will go to the Xmas dinner at his Godparents. After we went our separate ways, we walked a bunch more and went to the Queen Victoria Building (which now is a mall) and saw a really cool Christmas Tree made with Swarovski crystals": both the tree and the building are really nice. After that, we went shopping for the 2 little gifts to bring tomorrow at the dinner, and sat down for a coffee and some dessert. We were both beat and we needed to rest our feet for a little while. 
After that, while we made our way to the bus stop, it started raining. We found our bus stop and made it back to the apartment in time to walk to the local store to get some food for dinner. We got back to the apartment and decided we would skip going to the beach for tonight and maybe go tomorrow: we had walked enough for the day, and it was a good thing because while I was cooking dinner, the sky opened: it started pouring rain and didn’t stop until we went to bed.
